Near
the Duomo, in the oldest part of Milan, you can visit the
interesting Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, where
you can admire the “Portrait of a Musician”,
painted by Leonardo around 1480. Leonardo, himself a musician,
put a sheet with notes in the hand of the young man portrayed.
Particularly impressive are the eyes of the man, vitreous
and looking-aside.
In
the nearby and beautiful Biblioteca Ambrosiana
is conserved the largest and more precious of Leonardo’s
Codices, the Atlantic Codex, of which only
exceptionally some sheets are shown to the public. You can
check the website www.ambrosiana.it
to see if you are fortunate enough to visit Milan during
these days..
